THE WORK DONE LOCALLY HAS BEEN AN INSPIRATION TO ACT AT A GREATER DIMENSION. THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS WERE IMPLEMENTED AS PART OF A DREAM TO IMPROVE CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES’ LIFE WHEREVER THEY MIGHT BE FOUND

Project Title:-
“Improving the Kenya Juvenile Justice System”
Project date: 2014-2016

The Department of Children Services ministry of labor DCS, Probation and Aftercare Department PD, the Judiciary of Kenya, the Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association KMJA,

Watoto CIAO, CESVI Cooperazione e Sviluppo, LRF Legal Resources Foundation, CWSK Child Welfare Society of Kenya, and CEFA Comitato Europeo per la Formazione.
Geographical area:-
All 28 Kenya Juvenile Justice Institutions (Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Nyeri and Machakos counties), Three Police stations and Children’s Courts in Kisumu, Mombasa and Nairobi.
Activities:-
1) Provision of medical and psychosocial services to CWDs and GBV victims held in 25 statutory GoK institutions.
2) Mapping and providing first assessment of CWDs in all the GoK institutions.
3) Mapping of service providers who can respond to severe CWD cases and building of a social support system for CWDs in the justice system by linking them with the services providers.
4) Provision of medication, occupational therapy, orthopedic devices and/or surgeries.
5) Capacity building of GoK Officer on disability.
6) Establishing two special units for CWD in the Juvenile Justice System in Kenya, one for boys and one for Girls.

Project Title:-
Building the Foundation for Child Labour Free Zones in Urban and Rural Kenya Project.
Project date: 2011-2014

Seven Kenya Government Juvenile Justice Institutions (Dagoretti and Kirigiti rehabilitation schools for Girls, Kabete Rehabilitation school for Boys, Gitathuru and Kirigiti children’s reception centers, Nairobi and Kiambu children remand homes)
Activities:-
1) Provision of rehabilitation/formative services for CWDs in the institutions.
2) Provision of vocational educational and training services for government staff to better handle cases of CWDs.
3) Provision of reintegration & aftercare services for special needs children in Juvenile Justice Institutions.
Zebras are several species of African equids united by their distinctive black and white striped coats. Their stripes come in different patterns, unique to each individual. They are generally social animals that live in small harems to large herds. Unlike their closest relatives the horses and donkeys, zebras have never been truly domesticated.
